Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows: error 0000006b and error 1909 - Could not add a connection to server

Sophos Anti-Virus reports the following error
Update has failed 0000006b

When you check the ALC.log on the client computer. If you see the message,Could not add a connection to server - Windows 1909 error 1909 : The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.
This confirms that the account has been locked out

Technical Information
You can see this issue with any directory service, including Active Directory.
The root cause is that the account used in the update policy is locked out.
What to do
On the server, do one of the following.
- If you have Active Directory configured
- Click Start, Administrative Tools, Active Directory Users and Computers,
- Expand 'Users', right-click the account used under the Sophos updating policy, and select 'Properties'.
- Deselect the 'Account is locked Out' tab, click Apply, then OK.
- If you do not have Active Directory configured
- Click Start, Administrative Tools, Computer Management,
- Select System Tools, Local Users and Groups, Users,
- Right-click the account used under the Sophos updating policy, and select 'Properties' tab
- Deselect the 'Account is locked Out' tab, click Apply, then OK.
