Enterprise Console: backing up the server
Before you upgrade a server running Enterprise Console, or make other major changes to your setup, you should make a complete backup of your Sophos Enterprise Console installation. Ensure you can recover the system from this backup.
If the changes fail, you will need to recover your Sophos Enterprise Console system to its previous state from your backup.
What to do
Backup the following:
- Back up your database. The default installation folder for the database is C:\Program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SOPHOS.
- Export the following registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sophos\Certification Manager
If you need to restore the installation to its previous state, do the following:
- Restore the database to the instance you use. The default SQL Server instance is SOPHOS.
- Restore the following registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sophos\Certification Manager
