Enterprise Console: displays message 'Awaiting Policy from Console' or 'Awaiting Response from Client'
Issue
One of the following messages relating to a client computer is displayed in the Enterprise Console:
Awaiting Policy from Consoleor Awaiting Response from Client
Sophos product and version
Enterprise Console 3.0
Operating system
Windows XP Professional SP2
What to do
- Open the Remote Management System (RMS) ports on the Windows Firewall (8192-8194)
- Turn off on-access scanning on the client computer. It now reports back correctly to the console. (This indicates that RMS is working).
- Ensure that the server has been protected. If unsure, protect it.
Client computer should now report correctly.
