Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux: running on-access scanning on the same computer as PureMessage for UNIX
Sophos
Note: The PureMessage for UNIX documentation recommends that no superfluous software should be run on the mail server, and this includes any on-access virus scanner other than Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux.
What to do
If you install PureMessage for UNIX, including Sendmail or Postfix, to the default location, then add the following exclusion:
/opt/pmx/*
Note:
- If you installed PureMessage for UNIX to a non-default location, then you will need to exclude that location instead.
- If you did not install the packaged Sendmail or Postfix, but have a separate Sendmail or Postfix installation, then you will also need to exclude those directories.
- Do not enable MIME detection in any copy of Sophos
Anti-Virus for Linux run on the same server as PureMessage for UNIX.
