Enterprise Console: error 'Some of the selected computers are suspected to not support this operation'

When running a Full system scan from Enterprise Console, the following error message may be generated:

Some of the selected computers are suspected to not support this operation

This error message is generated either where the operating system does not support a Full system scan, or where an issue on the computer prevents the scan from taking place (e.g. the computer has just upgraded from Sophos Anti-Virus version 6 and needs a reboot for the updates to take effect).

What to do

  1. In Enterprise Console, look for any warnings related to that computer.
  2. If there are warnings, right-click the affected computer and select 'View computer details'.
  3. Scroll down to 'Outstanding alerts and errors'.
  4. Resolve any problem indicated by the error message.
