Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux: corporate configuration must be removed to administer from Enterprise Console

With Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux, if you manually set a corporate configuration file, but later want your workstations (endpoints) to comply with a policy set from Enterprise Console, you must manually remove the corporate layer.

What to do

Do one of the following:

  • On the workstation concerned, delete the corporate layer using the command:

    ./savconfig deletelayer --corporate
  • On the sever holding the CID, delete the corporate layer using the command:

    ./savconfig deletelayer --corporate

Then update the live corporate configuration file as described in section 7.2.2 of the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux user manual 'Updating the live corporate configuration file in the CID'.

The workstation can be managed from Enterprise Console after its second update from the changed CID.
