Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux: old update configuration options hidden, not removed

When Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux is upgraded from version 5 to version 6 the old update configuration options are hidden, but not removed. This means that the update configurations for groups and packages are preserved after the upgrade, and will still work, but are not available for editing.

What to do

When you change your settings you will have to set them explicitly, as they will appear to be empty.

Technical details

An update configuration using groups and packages is preserved after upgrade, but is not modified by the Sophos Anti-Virus updating mechanism, so the PrimaryUpdateSourcePath and SecondaryUpdateSourcePath options are not populated.

However, old configuration settings will be used for updating as long as the PrimaryUpdate* and SecondaryUpdate* parameters have not been changed. The new settings will remain empty until they are set explicitly.
