Sophos Update Manager: upgrading from version 1 to version 2
This article describes how to upgrade from version 1 to version 2, of Sophos Update Manager.
What to do
- On your computer, find and note the location of your central installation directory (CID). (To identify the CID; it comprises a directory called 'Sophos Anti-Virus' which contains another directory called 'ESOSX').
NOTE: If the existing CID is not located on the boot volume, you must move it to the boot volume, otherwise the upgrade will fail. - From the Sophos website, download Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac network installer.
- Mount the Sophos Update Manager, version 2, dmg file.
- Run the Sophos Anti-Virus Network.mpkg file.
- During the installation you will be prompted to select the location of your CID (noted in step 1 above). You must install the upgrade to the same location as the CID 'Sophos Anti-Virus' directory.
- Sophos Update Manager now updates the CID. All of your previous configuration options are retained in the CID.
- Once you have completed the update, the Sophos Update Manager application can be located in the 'Applications' directory. (It is not retained in the same location as the CID.)
