Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows: on-access scanner can corrupt files on a floppy disk

When the Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows on-access scanner scans a file, it re-writes the 'modifed since' time so that the file appears to be exactly as it was before the scan happened.

Changing this value is important if backup software on the system uses this to determine whether or not the file should be backed up.

If the file is on a floppy disk, and the user ejects the floppy disk before the on-access scanner has finished re-writing the 'modifed since' time, then the file may become corrupted.

What to do

Ensure that all writes to the disk have finished before ejecting it (the green light will stop flashing when the writes have finished).
