Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: deciding which applications to authorize with Application Control

Application Control enables network administrators to block certain legitimate consumer applications from running on workplace computers

Typically, you would use Application Control to prevent users from running applications that are not a security threat, but that you deem unsuitable for use in your business environment, e.g. games or Instant Messaging programs.

Which applications are acceptable on your company computers and which are not, is a policy decision that must be made within your company.

Sophos cannot advise you as to which applications you should permit or block on your computers and your network.
