Administrator rights needed to clean up a multi-component threat

With Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ you will need administrator rights to clean up a multi-component threat such as a virus or potentially unwanted application (PUA). You cannot do this as a power user, as the button is greyed out.

You can however delete single component threats when running as power user.

What to do

  1. Log on as administrator.
  2. Run Cleanup to remove the multi-component threat from that computer.

If you need more information or guidance, then please contact technical support.
