On-access scanner may not recognise mounted drives when using Novell Client for Linux

The Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux on-access scanner may not recognise mounted drives when using the Novell Client for Linux (NCL).

  • If the on-access scanner is set to load on bootup, then the Novell Client for Linux will not map any drives.
  • If the on-access scanner is not set to load at bootup, the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux on-access scanner will not detect mapped drives that are network file systems, if you then start the on-access scanner. It should run at bootup.

The on-access scanning of drives mapped by the Novell Client for Linux is unsupported, however customers can contact Sophos support if they require further information.

If you need more information or guidance, then please contact technical support.
