'Error Scanning file "/lib/security/pam_unix.so"'

With Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux, the following error can appear in pop-up messages and logs:

Error Scanning file
"/lib/security/pam_unix.so"

This happens in Turbolinux Server version 10.0 (Celica) where the following have been enabled:

• DenyOnDetectionError
• DenyOnCorruptFile
• SaviGroup.Archives

There is a conflict with the user-switching functionality, and the web user interface daemon cannot start. The file pam_unix.so is part of the default installation in this version of Linux.

What to do

1. Switch to a virtual terminal.
2. Use savconfig to disable the above options.
