Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux: TALPA modules fail to load if built with a different version of GCC from that used by the kernel
The Sophos
Users of Sophos precompiled binaries will not be affected by this issue.
What to do
- Delete the binary pack from the /opt/sophos-av/talpa/compiled directory.
- Start sav-protect (the on-access scanner for Sophos
Anti-Virus for Linux) with a PATH that does not include the other version of GCC.
It can be stopped/started/restarted from /etc/init.d/
The command that you would run if you have multiple versions of gcc active on your system would be:
PATH=<trimmed path> /etc/init.d/sav-protect restartNote: <trimmed path> must only have the main/kernel compiling gcc in it.
