PureMessage for Windows/Exchange: how to upgrade to version 2.6.1
PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, version 2.6.1, can be used to update PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, versions 2.1.0, 2.5.0, 2.5.1, and 2.6.0.
If you are running Sophos PureMessage Small Business Edition (SBE) refer to the knowledgebase article for information on upgrading. If you are running a version of PureMessage for Windows/Exchange not listed above, you do not need to update PureMessage.
Check which version you currently have installed before starting the upgrade.
PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, version 2.6.1, incorporates new features. It is available as a download from the Sophos website. Existing customers will not automatically be sent a CD.
What to do

Note:
- A reboot may be required
To complete the installation you may be prompted to reboot the computer.
Before you start the upgrade, ensure that you have chosen a time when the reboot, if required, will cause the least inconvenience.
You do not need to uninstall your existing version of PureMessage before installing the update.
- Download the files from the Sophos website.
- Double-click the downloaded file, then click 'Install'.
- Click 'Next' to continue. Wait while the upgrade takes place.
- Click 'Finish'.
To check that the upgrade has taken place, open the PureMessage console and select 'Product Information'. The product version should be 2.6.1.
