Sophos Anti-Virus: username and password required by remote users

Remote users will require a username and password to update their Sophos Anti-Virus software.

What to do

Remote computers should be configured to update their Sophos Anti-Virus software from your company webCIDs with a username and password. You will have created usernames and passwords for remote users when you published the updates folder on your website.

If you have remote users who cannot update their anti-virus software from your company website and must therefore update direct from Sophos, you must provide them with the Sophos-issued EM Library username and password. You can find the necessary username and password on the back cover of your Sophos End-User License Agreement. The username usually starts with "em".

Do not supply these users with any of the other credentials that you use in managing Sophos products.

If you need more information or guidance, then please contact technical support.
