PureMessage for Windows/Exchange: hourly spam rule updates available
Hourly updates to your PureMessage spam rules are now available, direct from Sophos. Hourly updates provide increased protection against the latest spamming techniques.
The increased frequency of updates will take place automatically, you do not have to reconfigure your software. However, if you have concerns about the load on your internet connection, you can reduce the frequency of updates as described below.
What to do
To reduce the frequency of updates, do as follows:
- On your management computer, where the PureMessage console is installed, locate the Sophos AutoUpdate icon (the blue shield) in the system tray.
- Right-click the icon to display a menu, and select 'Configure updating'.
- Click the 'Schedule' tab and select 'Enable automatic updates'.
- Enter the frequency (in minutes) with which you want PureMessage to check for updated software.
- Click 'OK'
For more details refer to the section 'Updating', in the PureMessage for Windows/Exchange User manual.
