SAV Interface: configuring anti-virus scanning for MIMEsweeper

When using SAV Interface with Sophos Anti-Virus on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, virus data version 3.97 and above, you can configure scanning settings for MIMEsweeper.

What to do

Create a .ini file containing the scanning options you require. When you run MIMEsweeper, it will scan using the options you specify.

  1. Using a standard text editor, create a new text file.
  2. Type in the required configuration option(s). For example, if you want to turn on full scanning, type:
    FullSweep 1
    All whitespace in the file you are creating will be ignored. If you want to add comments, they should start on a new line and be prefixed by a hash (# ).
  3. Name the file savmscm.ini and save it to the Sophos Anti-Virus installation directory.

When you run MIMEsweeper, the options you supplied will take effect.

You can configure scanning as described here, on Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ version 5, Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT version 4.5, and Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, versions in maintenance, provided you are using virus data version 3.97 and above.
