Sophos Anti-Virus: how to centrally configure unmanaged computers

You can generate a uniform anti-virus and auto-updating policy for Sophos Anti-Virus on your computers even if you are not using Enterprise Console.

What to do

An administrator can import the anti-virus policy and auto-update policy settings for Sophos Anti-Virus directly into a Central Installation Directory (CID). When a computer installs or updates from that CID, the computer will also import the appropriate settings for Sophos Anti-Virus and Sophos AutoUpdate.

The tools enabling you to do this are available on the Sophos Anti-Virus Network Install CD. Both of them are command line utilities. The names of the files are:

• ConfigCID.exe
• ExportConfig.exe
