Sophos Endpoint Security and Control: administration consoles
Sophos Endpoint Security and Control provides three administration consoles to configure and manage the network:
- Enterprise Console
- NAC Manager
- Helpdesk Console
- Enterprise Read-Only Console
Please see below for a description of each console.

Enterprise Console
Enterprise Console is the main management console for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.
You must use Enterprise Console to perform the following tasks:
- create and edit groups of computers
- create policies for anti-virus and HIPS, updating, application control and firewall
- assign policies to computers or groups of computers
- configure on-access scanning
- configure regular scans to be deployed across the entire network
- configure email alerts
- open EM Library and configure central installation directories (CIDs)
- check the time and date of the latest update to EM Library.
You can also use Enterprise Console, or another console, to perform the following tasks:
- install or update anti-virus or firewall protection remotely
- check that the computers on your network have installed the latest updates
- scan and clean up computers when a problem is found
- generate reports.

NAC Manager Console
NAC Manager is a management console used for configuring NAC policies only.
You must use NAC Manager to create NAC policies; they are applied in Enterprise Console.
NAC Manager is accessed by clicking the NAC button in Enterprise Console or by double-clicking a NAC policy in Enterprise Console.

Helpdesk Console
Helpdesk Console is a management console that is used to administer a group of computers assigned by the administrator. Using it, you can:
- install or update Sophos Anti-Virus or Sophos firewall protection remotely on the group of computers assigned to the console user
- configure a scan to be applied to any Windows computer in the console's group
- acknowledge alerts
- clean up computers using Sophos Anti-Virus when a virus or other problem is detected
- view the status of each computer against the policies created in Enterprise Console
- generate reports.

Enterprise Read-Only Console
Enterprise Read-Only Console is a read-only console that can be used to view the status of the computers on the network. Using it, you can:
- view the status of each computer against the policies created in EnterpriseConsole
- view the outstanding alerts for any computer on the network
- generate reports
