Advisory: The November 2010 Sophos Anti-Virus virus data files update may be up to 45 MB in size

Version 4.59 of the virus data files, scheduled for release in November 2010, will be a large update, possibly up to 45 MB. This update will apply to all Sophos Anti-Virus customers.

The virus data files have been refactored for this release in order to reduce the size of your virus data file library and to optimize performance.

If you are likely to suffer bandwidth issues with an update of this size, you can avoid saturating slow links by following the procedure described in the knowledgebase article How do I: Limit the bandwidth used for updating.
