Advisory: The Sophos Anti-Virus v 7.6.20 June update will require a reboot
We are incorporating a new driver into the June update of Sophos Anti-Virus, v 7.6.20. (The June update is released in late May 2010.)
This will be an automatic update for Endpoint Security and Control customers, and will include
a new driver and fixes for several outstanding issues, including:
- Potential blue screen in the On-Access driver when processing a resource shielding request for process termination
- Sophos_detoured_x64.dll affecting CPU with more than 28 cores
- 'Rootkit scan has been cancelled due to a corrupt disk' error
For this update to take effect, you will need to reboot endpoint computers. In this release, we have suppressed endpoint reboot requests by default, so that requests will only be sent to Enterprise Console.
Existing protection will not be compromised in the interim before the required reboot is completed.
