Sophos Anti-Virus SBE: how to uninstall Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition

This article describes how to remove Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition (SBE) from Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Mac OS X computers.

Uninstalling the server components

Remove the server components in the following order.

  1. Uninstalling the Sophos Control Center from a server
    To uninstall the Sophos Control Center from a server
    • select 'Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition'
    • click 'Add/Remove'
    • follow the instructions on the screen.
  2. Uninstalling all Small Business Edition components
    Note: This will remove components needed for PureMessage Small Business Edition as well as those for Sophos Anti-Virus SBE. Only follow these instructions where complete removal is needed (e.g. when upgrading to the Enterprise version of Sophos products).

    To uninstall all SBE components from the server
    • at the Windows taskbar, select 'Start|Settings|Control Panel'
    • double-click 'Add/Remove Programs'
    • select 'Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (SOPHOS)'
      • click 'Add/Remove'
      • follow the instructions on the screen
    • select 'Sophos Auto Update'
      • click 'Add/Remove'
      • follow the instructions on the screen
    • select 'Sophos Anti-Virus version'
      • click 'Add/Remove'
      • follow the instructions on the screen
    • select 'Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition'
      • click 'Add/Remove'
      • follow the instructions on the screen
    • select 'Sophos Remote Management System'
      • if Sophos Remote Management System is present, select it
      • click 'Add/Remove' and follow the instructions on the screen.
