Question
Can the full domain name (FQDN) be used in encryption rules?
Answer
Yes. The patch "SafeGuard LAN Crypt Client 3.51.0 Patch 1 (3.51.1)" solves the problem of encryption rules with full domain names.
Now, only the server name without the domain name is used. The domain name in the path is cut off internally.
The network share can be connected using the full domain name or just the server name.
To use this feature, the following registry key must be set:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Utimaco\SGLANCrypt]
"RemoveDomainFromRules"=dword:00000001
