Virus identity (IDE) files: using on SAV Interface used by gateway programs

What to do

Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 version in maintenance must be installed on the server running the services that use SAV Interface, normally from a Central Installation Directory (CID) on the same computer.

Updating this central installation is described in Central installation: automatic updating with virus identity (IDE) files.

You may sometimes need to re-start the third party software services immediately after updating.

How to confirm that the IDE files have been loaded

• The IDE files loaded are listed in the Sophos log (by default C:\Program files\Sophos SWEEP for NT\SWEEP.LOG).
• The number of viruses in the library reported in the third party software log when SAV Interface is loaded should have changed.
