SAV Interface: installing on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003
Installing Sophos
What to do
To install SAV Interface on Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003
- Insert the Sophos
Anti-Virus CD into a Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 computer and click 'Quick installation' on the welcome screen. - Click 'Central installation/upgrade' to create a Central Installation Directory (CID) on the local disk. Accept the default settings.
- Run the SETUP program from the CID (by default, for Intel, C:\Program Files\Sophos SWEEP for NT\NTInst\i386) and click 'Local installation'. Accept the default settings. Deselect 'InterCheck Client'.
For detailed instructions, see the SAV Interface on Windows NT/2000/XP installation guide.
The application must then be configured to use SAV Interface:
- Follow the instructions provided with the application. Any references to SWDETECT.DLL should be ignored. SAV Interface no longer uses this.
- If the instructions indicate that SAVI.DLL is required, copy it from the WIN32\I386\SAV32CLI folder of the Sophos
Anti-Virus CD into the folder used by the application. - Start the application.
