MailMonitor for SMTP: threat reduction
Not only can MailMonitor for SMTP detect viruses in email, but it can also be configured to block undesirable emails. MailMonitor for SMTP can be used to block:
- attachments with double extensions (permitted double extensions can be specified)
- attachments that are Windows and DOS executables (MailMonitor will identify these files even if the extension has been changed.)
- attachments with specific filenames or extensions
- mail with specific subject lines
- mail sent to more than a specifed number of recipients (suspected spam).
