MailMonitor for SMTP: running on a different computer from the SMTP server
MailMonitor for SMTP can be run on a different computer from the SMTP server.What to do
MailMonitor for SMTP should be set to listen on port 25 of the computer on which it is installed. It should also be set to forward mail to the SMTP server by inputting the IP address and port number of the SMTP server during installation, or by editing the configuration file and restarting MailMonitor.
As MailMonitor will have a different IP address from the SMTP server, you will need to alter the MX record in the DNS so that mail is forwarded to MailMonitor, which will then forward it to the SMTP server.
