Sophos Anti-Virus for OpenVMS: "Non-standard record format" error messages

Sophos Anti-Virus for OpenVMS generates "Non-standard record format" messages when scanning files which are not in 'stream' format, the usual format for microcomputer client files stored on a Pathworks server.

This message is usually generated when scanning OpenVMS files such as directory files. It is informing you that the file is unlikely to need scanning, not that the file is not being scanned.

What to do

These messages can be suppressed by including the qualifier /FI. Alternatively, the qualifier /FO can be used to scan stream format files only.
