In cases where the IP address classification does not provide a strong decision, Sophos products also use content-level checks to detect spam.
SophosLabs performs significant analysis to determine an IP address's classification in order to avoid any mis-classifications. If you believe an IP address to be mis-classified, you can check its current classification using this lookup tool, and if appropriate, send a request to SophosLabs to exempt the IP address from its current classification.
