This is a variant of WM97/Melissa. It is email-aware and will send a copy of the infected document as an attachment to the first 50 entries in your Outlook address book.
The message it sends has the following characteristics:
Subject: Message from <username>
Message Text: This document is very Important and you've GOT to read this !!!
On December 25th the virus displays a message box:
and inserts a random number of coloured shapes into the current document. C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT is changed by the virus in an attempt to format the C: drive when the computer is next rebooted.
