W32/SillyFDC-AE is a worm for the Windows platform.

When run, the worm copies itself to:

<Windows>\SCVVHSOT.exe
<System>\blastclnnn.exe
<System>\SCVVHSOT.exe

The worm also creates the following files:

<Windows>\Tasks\At1.job
<System>\autorun.ini

These files are detected as W32/SillyFDC-AE.

The following registry entry is created to run SCVVHSOT.exe on startup:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Yahoo Messengger
<System>\SCVVHSOT.exe

The following registry entry is changed to run SCVVHSOT.exe on startup:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Shell
Explorer.exe SCVVHSOT.exe

(the default value for this registry entry is "Explorer.exe" which causes the Microsoft file <Windows>\Explorer.exe to be run on startup).

The following registry entries are set, disabling the registry editor (regedit) and the Windows task manager (taskmgr):
