W32/Sdranck-W is a multi-component network worm for the Windows platform.

When W32/Sdranck-W is installed the following files are created:

<System>\ataste.exe
<System>\tasta.exe
<System>\vanhoutt.exe

The file ataste.exe is detected as Troj/Ranck-Fam, and the files tasta.exe and vanhoutt.exe are detected as W32/Sdbot-Gen.

The Sdbot component spreads W32/Sdranck-W via network shares with weak passwords.

The following registry entries are created to run vanhoutt.exe on startup:
