More Information

W32/Rbot-OJ is an IRC backdoor Trojan with spreading capabilities.

W32/Rbot-OJ may spread to remote network shares and computers vulnerable to common exploits. The worm also opens up a backdoor, allowing unauthorised remote access to infected computers via the IRC network, while running in the background as a service process.

W32/Rbot-OJ copies itself to the Windows system folder and creates the following registry entries to run automatically on startup:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
Workstation Services = "wrkstn.exe"

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\
Workstation Services = "wrkstn.exe"

In addition, the worm may try to set the following registry entry:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE\Workstation Services = "wrkstn.exe"

W32/Rbot-OJ may attempt to delete network shares, log keypresses, participate in DDOS attacks and steal registration keys for various computer games.
