More Information
W32/Rbot-DOQ is a worm and IRC backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform.
W32/Rbot-DOQ may spread to other network computers by copying itself to remote network shares or by exploiting common buffer overflow vulnerabilities, including: LSASS (MS04-011), RPC-DCOM (MS04-012), WKS (MS03-049) (CAN-2003-0812), WKS (MS03-049) (CAN-2003-0812), MSSQL (MS02-039) (CAN-2002-0649).
W32/Rbot-DOQ runs continuously in the background, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control over the computer via IRC channels.
When first run W32/Rbot-DOQ copies itself to <System>\MSsec32.exe and creates the file \a.bat.
The file a.bat is detected as Troj/Batten-A.
The following registry entries are created to run MSsec32.exe on startup:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Microsoft WIN32 Security
MSsec32.exe
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
