More Information

W32/Forbot-AH is a worm which attempts to spread to remote network shares. It also contains backdoor Trojan functionality, allowing unauthorised remote access to the infected computer via IRC channels while running in the background as a service process.

W32/Forbot-AH moves itself to the Windows system folder as wind32.exe and creates entries in the registry at the following locations so as to run itself on system startup:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
Win32 USB2 Driver = wind32.exe

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\
Win32 USB2 Driver = wind32.exe

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
\Win32 USB2 Driver = wind32.exe

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
\Win32 USB2 Driver = wind32.exe

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\
Win32 USB2 Driver = wind32.exe

W32/Forbot-AH also creates its own service named "Win32 USB2 Driver".

W32/Forbot-AH is also capable of stealing CD-Keys related to various games and allowing intruders to use the infected machine to carry out DDOS, or act as proxy to disguise themselves.
