Windows NT/2000/XP/2003

In Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 you will also need to edit the following registry entry. The removal of this entry is optional in Windows 95/98/Me. Please read the warning about editing the registry.

At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens.

Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup.

Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entry:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

and remove any reference to any file you deleted.

Close the registry editor.

W32/Agobot-JK is a network worm with IRC backdoor Trojan functionality.

When first run W32/Agobot-JK copies itself to the Windows system folder as serv1ces.exe and may create a registry entry in the following key:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

W32/Agobot-JK exploits a number known vulnerabilties to execute its code on target computers with System level privileges.

W32/Agobot-JK attempts to terminate various processes related to anti-virus and security software.

Each time W32/Agobot-JK is run it attempts to connect to a remote IRC server and join a specific channel, listening for backdoor commands.

W32/Agobot-JK also collects system information and registration keys of popular games that are installed on the computer.
