Troj/Xbot-F is a multicomponent backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform that provides unauthorized remote access to the infected computer through an IRC channels.

Troj/Xbot-F includes functionality to download, install and run new software.

When first run Troj/Xbot-F copies itself to <Windows folder>\sysload.exe and creates the following files:

<Windows folder>\dlcomcnf.exe
<Windows folder>\svchost.exe
<Windows folder>\svchost.ini

which downloads from the predefined URLs.

The file svchost.exe registered as a new system driver service named "svchost", with a display name of "Network Drivers Service" and a startup type of automatic, so that it is started automatically during system startup. Registry entries are created under:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\svchost\

Also the Trojan creates a number of registry entries are set under:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ActiveMovie
