More Information

Troj/Traxg-C is an HTML-based Microsoft Visual Basic script which exploits the "Microsoft VM ActiveX Component" vulnerabilty associated with certain versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, to run an executable file on the local computer.

This vulnerability allows an HTML-based script to access the file system or registry without any of the usual security restrictions placed on ActiveX controls. For further information see Microsoft security bulletin MS00-075.

Troj/Traxg-C arrives on the computer by visiting remote websites whose HTML pages contain the script.

The executable file will typically have the same remote location as the HTML page containing the script.
