Troj/Singu-Y is a backdoor Trojan which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control over the computer.

Troj/Singu-Y includes functionality to access the internet and communicate with a remote server via HTTP.

When first run Troj/Singu-Y copies itself to <Windows folder>\aaa.exe and creates the file <Windows folder>\aaa.cfg.

The file aaa.exe is registered as a new system driver service named "windows update", with a display name of "windows update" and a startup type of automatic, so that it is started automatically during system startup. Registry entries are created under:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\windows update\

The following registry entries are set, affecting internet security:
