Troj/Lydra-F

Please follow the instructions for removing Trojans.

You will also need to edit the following registry entries, if present. Please read the warning about editing the registry.

At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens.

Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup.

Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entries:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
internat=C:\windows\internat.exe
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\
internat=C:\windows\internat.exe

and delete them if they exist.

Each user has a registry area named HKEY_USERS\[code number indicating user]\. For each user locate the entry:

HKCU\[code number]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
mdm=C:\windows\mdm.exe.

and delete it if it exists.

Close the registry editor.

Delete the file C:\windows\file.dll

Troj/Lydra-F is a Trojan for the Windows platform. It drops several files and may capture keystrokes and allow a remote user access to the files stored on the computer.

In order to run automatically when Windows starts up Troj/Lydra-F may create the following registry entries:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
internat=C:\windows\internat.exe
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\
internat=C:\windows\internat.exe
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
mdm=C:\windows\mdm.exe.

In order to run automatically when Windows starts up Troj/Lydra-F may create the following files:

C:\windows\mdm.exe
C:\windows\internat.exe
C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\msoffice.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\msoffice.exe.

Troj/Lydra-F may also creates the following .dll files which are required by the Trojan.
C:\windows\stdvcl.dll
C:\windows\streamsv.dll

The following file is also created. It is not harmful.
C:\windows\file.dll
