Change any data that may have become compromised.

You will also need to edit the following registry entries, if they are present. Please read the warning about editing the registry.

At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens.

Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup.

Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entries:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\csrss
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runcsrss\csrss

and delete them if they exist.

Close the registry editor.

More Information

Troj/Legmir-M is a password stealing Trojan that logs keystrokes
(e.g. passwords) and sends this information to an external email address
via SMTP.

Troj/Legmir-M especially targets the "Legend of Mir" computer game.

On execution Troj/Legmir-M copies itself to the Windows folder with the filename csrss.exe and to the Windows system folder with the filename WinS0cks.dll and adds the following entries to the registry to ensure it is run on system logon:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\csrss
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runcsrss\csrss

with the path to csrss.exe file.

Troj/Legmir-M attempts to terminate processes related to the following applications:

EGHOST.EXE
MAILMON.EXE
KAVPFW.EXE
RAVTIMER.EXE
RAVMON.EXE
CCENTER.EXE

Troj/Legmir-M also attempts to shut down ZoneAlarm.

Troj/Legmir-M may create a keylogger DLL file that is detected as Troj/Legmir-E.
