Troj/Feutel-G is a backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform.

Troj/Feutel-G may arrive in an email claiming to contain a screen-saver. The attached executable will drop and run a legitimate screen-saver application and Troj/Feutel-G.

When first run, Troj/Feutel-G copies itself to <Windows folder>\expl0rer.exe and drops the following files:

<Windows folder>\expl0rer.DLL - Troj/Feutel-B
<Windows folder>\expl0rer_hook.DLL - Troj/Feutel-G

The Trojan may drop an additional keylogging DLL, detected as Troj/Feutel-G.

The Trojan installs itself as a service named "EXPL0RER" with a display name of "EXPL0RER". Registry entries will be created under the following branch:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EXPL0RER

In particular, the following registry entry will be set:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EXPL0RER
ImagePath
<Windows folder>\EXPL0RER.exe

Troj/Feutel-G contains backdoor functionality that allows a remote user to:

access the computer's file system.
create screen and video captures.
listen in on the infected computer.
download and upload files.
