In Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 you will also need to edit the following registry entry. The removal of this entry is optional in Windows 95/98/Me. Please read the warning about editing the registry.
At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens.
Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. On the 'Registry' menu, click 'Export Registry File'. In the 'Export range' panel, click 'All', then save your registry as Backup.
Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
sfita
<Windows>\sfita.exe
and delete it if it exists.
Close the registry editor.
More Information
Troj/Favadd-H is a Trojan for the Windows platform.
Troj/Favadd-H includes functionality to access the internet and communicate with a remote server via HTTP.
Troj/Favadd-H creates the following registry entry with the intention of running the Trojan on startup:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
sfita
<Windows>\sfita.exe
The Trojan does not copy itself to this location so the startup entry will only work if the Trojan was originally created at this location.
Troj/Favadd-H changes the Start Page for Microsoft Internet Explorer by setting the registry entry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page
Troj/Favadd-H creates several folder entries in the current user's favorites folder. The new entries are intended for storing pornographic bookmarks for Internet Explorer.
