More Information

Palm/Liberty-A is a Trojan horse for the Palm PDA operating system.

The Trojan horse appears to have been written by Aaron Ardiri, a co-author of a Nintendo Gameboy emulator for the Palm operating system called Liberty, and it poses as a "crack" for Liberty.

The Trojan horse deletes files from your Palm.

Sophos Anti-Virus can intercept the Trojan horse both when adding it to the list of items to be HotSync'd with your Palm as well as when performing the HotSync. Sophos researchers recommend users add Palm executable extensions such as .PRC to their Sophos Anti-Virus extension list.

Sophos researchers do not believe this Trojan horse will become widespread, and is likely to be encountered only by Palm users who put themselves at extreme risk by pirating and downloading illegal software, and not following safe computing practices.
