Sophos Names Arabella Hallawell Vice President of Corporate Strategy Former Gartner analyst tapped to guide Sophos’s long-term corporate strategy

BOSTON – October 20, 2009 - IT security and data protection firm Sophos today announced the appointment of Arabella Hallawell to vice president of corporate strategy. In this newly created position, Hallawell will be responsible for leading corporate strategy, including long-term competitive strategy; tracking significant technology shifts to effectively align the company’s product roadmap; leading business development efforts by identifying strategic partnerships that will help deliver Sophos’s product strategy; and driving customer research.

A seasoned professional with 15 years’ experience in the information technology industry, Hallawell recently held the position of research vice president at Gartner Research. In this role, she focused on the anti-virus, endpoint, email security and web filtering security markets, and led Gartner’s global privacy program. Hallawell counseled hundreds of CIOs and IT and security directors every year on security organizational models and vendor selection strategies and has advised some of the world’s most recognized technology vendors on go-to-market strategies.
Based in Sophos’s North American headquarters, Hallawell will report directly to Gawlick.
