Sophos podcast explores security threats and trends in 2008 and beyond Findings of the Sophos Security Threat Report 2009 discussed in new podcast
IT security and control firm Sophos today announced the availability of a new podcast discussing the Sophos Security Threat Report 2009.
Sophos has published new research into the examining existing and emerging security trends during 2008, and has identified trends in how hackers are attempting to steal money, identities and resources from internet users.
In the podcast, Graham Cluley senior technology consultant at Sophos, is interviewed by Carole Theriault, host of the Sophos podcasts, offering listeners a snapshot of the latest findings in the report. Amongst the issues discussed is the rise in SQL injection attacks against websites, where hackers infest pages on a site by exploiting vulnerabilities in its code.
"With more high-profile websites being exploited and a sharp rise in email attachment malware, it's never been more important to make sure you have strong defenses in place," said Carole Theriault. "This podcast aims to educate users on what the cybercriminals are up to, so they can ensure that they are sufficiently protected. It is clear from the findings of Sophos's Security Threat Report that businesses and home users alike need to do more to stop hackers taking advantage of computer systems."
