Utimaco’s SafeGuard Enterprise 5.35 offers Lenovo Fingerprint Logon for maximum security and ease of use Only solution to incorporate Lenovo Fingerprint Logon

The Data Security Company, today announced the availability of SafeGuard Enterprise 5.35, the first solution on the market that combines the Lenovo fingerprint logon with full disk encryption to ensure high security of data and ease of use. SafeGuard Enterprise 5.35 now provides fingerprint logon as an alternative to UID/password authentication, enabling users to log on with a simple finger swipe.

With the biometric sign-on, users can log on from power-on to Windows desktop, as well as from standby or lock-screen to Windows. This feature runs with Lenovo notebooks featuring UPEK and AuthenTec (NASDAQ: AUTH) fingerprint sensors, as well as Lenovo desktop computers connected to external keyboards with UPEK or AuthenTec fingerprint sensors. Utimaco worked in close cooperation with Lenovo and its biometric partners to ensure optimal compatibility and develop this user friendly technology.

"The Lenovo partnership with Utimaco is another example of where Lenovo Innovation is leveraged by technology leaders like Utimaco to create unique value to our customers,” said Richard W. Cheston, executive director, distinguished engineer & master inventor, Lenovo International. “SafeGuard Enterprise's integration with our Client Security Software Fingerprint technology delivers maximum security and unparalleled ease of use.”

“The continuous cooperation and early exchange of roadmaps with Lenovo ignites innovation to the benefit of our joined customers,” said Malte Pollmann, chief product officer, Utimaco Safeware. “Utimaco will continue to work with strategic Alliance partners like Lenovo to set the bar for best of breed data security solutions.”

Increased Functionality with add-on for Microsoft’s SCOM 2007
The optional SafeGuard Enterprise management pack for Microsoft’s System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2007 offers real-time monitoring of the health status of the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center. It can also provide automated repair to failures or alert the administrator to take manual actions as problems arise. Especially in large IT environments such monitoring functions become inevitable and SafeGuard Enterprise supporting these concepts provides additional benefits to larger organizations which they may not find elsewhere.

Enhanced options to provide client status information to third party management consoles
A new SafeGuard Enterprise client side information module in this latest version delivers comprehensive information on the encryption status of a SafeGuard Enterprise client and can also provide this status information to third party management consoles like Network Access Control (NAC) or Software Management Systems. This feature allows an organization to choose an output format favoring either human readability or easy automated parsing.
