Although NAC has been available for the last few years, many organisations still see it as a new technology. Reports to Sophos suggest that many businesses feel that their questions about NAC have not been answered. This podcast attempts to address companies' needs, answering such questions as how the solution works, whether access control is even required if a firewall and anti-virus are in place, and whether the time taken to deploy the solution is worth the benefits.
"With many industry analysts claiming that NAC is the next big thing, companies are facing a buying dilemma," said Carole Theriault, host of the Sophos podcasts. "Even those that want to bring in the technology are confronted with a massive range of solutions - software or hardware? will the solution they choose work with their existing security vendor? will they have to wait months before they can trial the solution in their own network? Matthew debunks some of the myths about NAC, and explains why allowing only compliant and trusted machines on the network can mitigate against security threats."
