Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against computer threats, has announced the launch of its Partner Advisory Board. This forum allows representative members of Sophos's UK partner network to provide feedback on critical Sophos issues, such as its channel strategy, as well as provide views on the IT security industry as a whole.

The first forum took place on 29 June, 2006 at Hilton London Paddington. Attending partners represented those who concentrate on new growth, as well as more established partners. Sophos set up this initiative to further underpin its dedication to improving the highly-rated channel process and better communicate its future developments. Coordinated by an independent facilitator, the Partner Advisory Board aims to be a professional sounding board, which provides feedback on upcoming channel plans.

"We applaud any vendor that embraces discussion with its channel," said David Simpson, commercial director at Softcat. "The topics covered at the first meeting of the Partner Advisory Board were pertinent to our business issues and we're confident Sophos understands these and will take on-board the key points raised. This move will set the standard for a better way of working together."

"We set up the Partner Advisory Board because we pride ourselves on our strong partner relationships, as well as the support and assistance we provide to our channel," said Stuart Small, UK sales and marketing director at Sophos. "By establishing open discussion and really listening to our partners, we can ensure our efforts match their needs and enable them to be more successful."
